MNO KPI Measurement Problems

Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the quality of service. However, these KPIs do not reflect the true quality received or perceived by customers as traditional measurement sources are network-centric and not customer-centric.

Leverage Industry Standard pSIM & eSIM

SIMQOE leverages industry-standard pSIM and eSIM Javacard API to capture essential data for processing into KPIs to help MNOs determine when, and where customer experience is optimum, or poor. Delivered in a ‘near real-time’ Customer QoE data points or Event Notifications (EN) generated by SIMQOE are transposed into a broad range of KPIs directly from the mobile device

How Wadaro Collect Data

Deployed as standard Javacard Applets our Client Software passively gathers data from host devices (retail mobile phones and IoT) to reflect network and device performance, and subscriber experience. Example data points include Date, Time, Cell Global ID, Mobile Device Latitude/Longitude, Access Technology (i.e. 2G/3G/4G/5G), Device Make & Model, Measured Radio (i.e. RSSI), Voice Call Quality, Success/Fail Access to Packet Data, Access Point Name (APN), Cell Handover Performance.

Data transmitted by the Applet to the network is extremely small. This ensures minimal use of bearer service to carry and allows for a lengthy historic record of KPI to be maintained.

Example KPIs

Example KPIs

The following represent a few examples of KPIs delivered by SIMQOE. A full complement of data points and KPIs generated are available upon request.

  • Radio Coverage Quality
    – Ratio of time on or off-net
    – Proportion of subscriber/device with access to competitive networks or without radio coverage
  • Call Performance Quality ie. call success rates
    – Ratio of successful versus failed MO/MT Call Set-Up (Call Set-Up Success Ratio)
    – Ratio of successful versus failed MO/MT Call (Call Success Ratio)
    – Successful versus failed Cell Handover (Handover Success Ratio)

Note: All data is protected in transit and at rest inside or outside of the network. See Subscriber Privacy

SIMQOE is a ‘passive’ measurement application and has no impact on subscriber experience, battery consumption, or user interface.
